Reasons for the selection of D. S. Briscoe as my Persona.

1. I was searching for someone that had a recorded history, but would NOT have been considered as FAMOUS in the eyes of History.
2. I wanted someone who had survived the war which hopefully would/will allow me to attempt to locate a current living relative.
3. I made no effort to attempt to find a ranger that would match my physical appearance or age as this would have been highly difficult if not impossible.
4. I do have a real liking for the name “Briscoe” and upon discovering that D.S. Briscoe met the first two requirements, I made the decision to adopt him as my persona.

I have begun limited research into his history and perhaps the location of any living relatives, but as yet this research is only in the beginning stages. When or if, I ever make a trip to Baltimore, I fully intend to pay my respects to his final resting place and have purchased a small “First National” flag to be placed there in his honor.
